Linde Verjans - violin

Linde began playing the violin when she was five years old. She later studied in Tilburg, Antwerp and Rotterdam and was a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) and the Gustav Mahler Jugend Orchestra (GMJO).

From 2019 to 2022, she was a permanent member of the first violin group of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra. She recently became co-captain of the second violins in the same orchestra. She also plays in the Triunfal Quintet, Anneleen Boehme's Grand Picture Palace and in the Alma Mahler Kammerorchester

She co-wrote the book Musiceren is Topsport, together with sports psychologist Bert De Cuyper and Griet Baert.

Biography

Linde Verjans received her first violin lessons from Marleen Dupont when she was five years old. She later took lessons at the music academies of Tienen and Bornem. She completed music school with highest distinction.

 

At the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, Linde was taught by Tatiana Samouil, Jolente De Maeyer and Katelijne Vinkeroye.

After successfully completing her master studies, she then studied for a year with Gordan Nikolic in Rotterdam.

 

She also took master classes with Liviu Prunaru, Donald Weilerstein, Tanja Becker-Bender, Barnabás Kelemen and Julia Fischer, among others.

 

In 2010, Linde won first prize in the national Dexia Classics competition. With the Bartolotti Trio (piano trio), she won the Toonzaal Talent Prize (Den Bosch, NL) in 2014. In 2016, she received the Lionel Bryer Memorial Fund Award from the EUYO.

2019 - 2022 1st violin tutti at the ASO

2019 - present violinist with the Alma Mahler Kammerorchester (AMK)

since April 2022 co-leader 2nd violins at the ASO

Linde plays on an 1836 Olry, an instrument she was able to purchase with support from Stichting Eigen Muziekinstrument (SEM) and Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds
